I Gotham Awards di quest’anno si terranno il 28 novembre al Cipriani Wall Street di New York.

La star di “Pose” Angelica Ross e il direttore esecutivo del Gotham Film & Media Institute Jeffrey Sharp hanno annunciato le nomination in diretta dal canale YouTube di Variety .

“Tár” guida la lista con cinque nomination, tra cui tre nomination per la recitazione, e per il miglior film e sceneggiatura. Seguono con tre nomination “Everything Everywhere All at Once“, “Aftersun” e “The Inspection“.

Adam Sandler riceverà un tributo alla cerimonia di quest’anno, celebrando la carriera comica del 56enne oltre alla sua illustre filmografia. Sandler è diventato noto con  “Saturday Night Live” e commedie come “Billy Madison”, “Happy Gilmore” e “The Waterboy”.

I Gotham Awards hanno candidato l’attore negli ultimi anni come miglior attore per “The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected)” del 2017 e “Uncut Gems” del 2019.

Oltre a Sandler, è stato annunciato che anche l’attrice Michelle Williams, la star del prossimo film semi-autobiografico di Steven Spielberg “The Fabelmans“, riceverà un tributo ai Gotham Awards 2022.

 Williams ha raccolto il plauso della critica negli ultimi anni, guadagnandosi una nomination come miglior attrice non protagonista per il suo ruolo di Randi Chandler nel dramma  “Manchester by the Sea” del regista Kenneth Lonergan.

La Williams concorrerà nella categoria attrice protagonista agli Academy Awards 2023 per il suo ruolo nell’ultimo film di Spielberg.
