Critics Choice Awards le nomination: La stagione dei premi entra nel vivo con l’annuncio delle candidature ai 31esimi Critics Choice Awards, che vedono un dominio quasi assoluto di “Sinners”, il nuovo film di Ryan Coogler. L’opera, prodotta da Warner Bros. — studio che si prepara a essere acquisito da Netflix — guida la classifica con ben 17 nomination, tra cui miglior film, regia, attore protagonista per Michael B. Jordan e numerose categorie tecniche.
Subito dietro si posiziona “One Battle After Another” di Paul Thomas Anderson, che conquista 14 candidature, confermando l’ottimo stato di forma del regista. A completare il gruppo di testa ci sono “Frankenstein” e “Hamnet”, entrambi con 11 nomination.

Sorpresa “Wicked: For Good” e l’assenza di Cynthia Erivo
Il musical “Wicked: For Good” ottiene sette nomination, facendo però emergere una delle omissioni più discusse dell’anno: la mancata candidatura di Cynthia Erivo come miglior attrice, nonostante il ruolo centrale nel film e il forte sostegno verso una sua possibile corsa agli Oscar. Fuori anche Kate Hudson, molto apprezzata in “Song Sung Blue”.
Cinema internazionale: Panahi snobbato
Il regista iraniano Jafar Panahi, premiato a Cannes, vede il suo “It Was Just an Accident” comparire solo nella categoria film straniero, senza riconoscimenti in regia o sceneggiatura. Una situazione che ricorda i recenti “snob” di Ruben Östlund e Justine Triet, poi entrambi approdati agli Oscar.
Nuove categorie e ruolo predittivo dei CCA
Quest’anno i Critics Choice introducono quattro nuove categorie tecniche, tra cui suono, stunt design e casting. L’organizzazione, composta da circa 575 membri, conferma il proprio ruolo di indicatore affidabile della stagione dei premi: lo scorso anno tre vincitori recitarono un bis anche agli Oscar.

La Critics Choice Association ha annunciato l’elenco completo dei candidati ai 31esimi Critics Choice Awards, che andranno in onda il 4 gennaio 2026 su E!. La selezione di quest’anno conferma la forza dei grandi studios insieme alle nuove firme del cinema d’autore, con “Sinners” di Ryan Coogler in testa a tutte le nomination cinematografiche e una presenza particolarmente forte di Netflix nelle categorie televisive.
