Critics Choice Awards 2025: i premi

La premiazione dei Critics Choice Awards , i premi assegnati dai critici americani, rende sempre più chiara quella che sarà la direzione imboccata dai premi Oscar. Nonostante tutto però sebbene Anora la commedia di Sean Baker si sia aggiudicata il premio più importante, la pellicola del regista francese Jacques Audiard sembra non aver perso totalmente punti.
Il musical Emilia Pérez si è aggiudicato tre premi ai Critics Choice Awards, con l’attrice spagnola Karla Sofía Gascón grande assente, nonostante la nomination, in conseguenza dei post razzisti e xenofobi.

‘Wicked’, ‘Emilia Pérez’ e ‘The Substance’ portano a casa tre premi ciascuno.. Sul fronte serie domina invece ‘Shogun’ con quattro vittorie

Le votazioni si sono concluse settimane prima che scoppiasse la polemica su Gascòn, candidata nella categoria migliore attrice, insieme alla vincitrice e star del gala, Demi Moore (‘The Substance’), e a Marianne Jean-Baptiste (‘Hard Truths’), Angelina Jolie (‘Maria’), Mikey Madison (‘Anora’) e Cynthia Erivo (‘Wicked’).

Demi Moore ha vinto il premio come migliore attrice confermando il suo status di favorita per gli Oscar in una settimana che ha visto lo scandalo travolgere la sua rivale di Emilia Perez Karla Sofia Gascon.

The Substance, il film horror della star degli anni Novanta, ha vinto anche il premio per la migliore sceneggiatura originale in un sfarzoso gala organizzato a Los Angeles dal più grande gruppo di critici del Nord America.

La vittoria di Moore segue quella ai Golden Globes e la mette sulla buona strada per coronare la rinascita della sua carriera agli Oscar del mese prossimo.

“È stata una corsa davvero folle”,

ha ammesso la Moore, che nel film è una celebrità avanti negli anni che si inietta un siero per tornare a vivere temporaneamente nel suo corpo più giovane. Rinascita della sua carriera e chiaro messaggio all’industria hollywoodiana sul valore delle attrici ‘anta’ che spesso hanno difficoltà a trovare ruoli che le valorizzino.  Simbolico infatti che la sua rivale sullo schermo,  Margaret Qualley,  non abbia raccolto la nomination ( meritata diremmo) agli Oscar. Messaggio subliminale?
