The Bohemian Outdoor Cinema is committed to screening the best short films from around the world.
Bohemian Shorts is Fremantle’s first short film competition. With over $8,000 in prizes up for grabs, get rolling to enter. FTI will present the best 12 entries at the Bohemian Outdoor Cinema on Saturday 6th February, 2010, with winners announced on the night. The Film & Television Institute is the premier professional development centre for independent screen production & events in Western Australia. FTI established the Bohemia Outdoor Cinema in 2002 to screen independent, inspiring and innovative cinema. The 2010 season will consist of the first annual Bohemian Shorts competition, which will award three cash prizes: $5,000 (AUD) to the best short film set in Fremantle, Western Australia; $3,000 (AUD) to the best short film; and $500 (AUD) for the People’s Choice, selected on the night of screening. The season will also screen curated programmes of animation, documentary and international shorts, as well as the best Western Australian short films nominated for the 23rd WA Screen Awards.
Requisiti
1. By submitting the Film the producer of the submitted film (“the Filmmaker”) agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. 2. No entry will be accepted after 4 January 2010. 3. Entry must consist of completed entry form, press kit, entry fee and DVD, miniDV, or digital file (ie Quicktime) of the film that is entered for competition. 4. All films should be prepared for 16:9 aspect ratio display. This means if your material is 4:3 it should be pillarboxed, if your material is 2.35:1 then you should slightly letterbox it for the 16:9 frame. SD material should be submitted as Full Height Anamorphic video (720×576). HD Content should be full raster square pixel native. 5. Films sent without payment (or receipt of payment) will not be accepted. 6. BOHEMIAN SHORTS Fremantle Short Film Competition must be the film’s first public screening in Western Australia. 7. Films must be no longer than 10 minutes (including titles and credits). 8. Filmmakers can submit more than one film into the competition. There is no restriction on the number of entries per filmmaker. 9. The Filmmaker warrants that the Film only includes material cleared for broadcast use, including (where applicable) any words, art, music, photographs, sound recordings, music or footage. The Filmmaker may be required to provide evidence of these clearances. 10. The Filmmaker consents to a clip of the Film up to 30 seconds being edited by FTI in order to promote the Competition. 11. The FTI aims to ensure that any use of the Film not authorised by FTI will not occur, however the Filmmaker acknowledges that FTI is not equipped with mechanisms to prevent unauthorised use of the Film, and the Filmmaker accepts that, to the extent allowable under the law, FTI has no liability to the Filmmaker for how the end user elects to view/ use the Film, and as such it may be permanently stored, reproduced, copied, distributed or the like, without recourse or remedy against FTI.
